Case Study: Godfreys Butchers, Highbury (Q Guild)
Existing shop refurbishment to create an Edwardian style butchers shop.
Godfreys Co. had a vision of refitting their long-established butchers shop to create a store that gave customers the unique experience of travelling back in time to the Edwardian era (which is when the company was first established). Being a Q-Guild accredited butcher tradition, elegance and quality craftsmanship were at the heart of their idea and when they realised that HK Interiors could not only create this actually help develop their ideas further they were happy to instruct us to carry out the project.
The entire shop was stripped out removing everything except the original fascia signage. Over a 13 day period our team worked tirelessly to produce a finished butchers shop that was everything Chris Godfrey wanted and more.
The whole shop has been tiled in British made period tiles, the ceiling was specifically designed to create a feature traditional look and numerous bespoke brass detailing was incorporated to give a truly regal finish (including a magnificent external brass sill on the shopfront that cannot be missed by anyone passing by). We manufactured bespoke shelving units, servery cupboards and worktops incorporating granite surfaces with an ogee edge detail to produce a truly stylish and stately result.
Working closely with Chris and his team every last minute detail was analysed to ensure it fit in perfectly with the scheme, such as bespoke solid brass logo details to units and branded blackboards.
The refit was a complete success. The completed butchers shop has been highly praised by all who enter and looks truly stunning.
Chris Godfrey, Godfreys Co.
“HK Interiors; the best team ever, stunning. British workmanship at its best. Thank you, one word – perfection. Everyone who comes in is stunned by the shop and nothing but compliments from all concerned.”
